7th of Feb: 8 hours trekking tour in the Tamango National Park.

Fuchsia everywhere

8th to 9th of Feb: Fiesta Costumbrie Cochrane

We were lucky to attend such a traditional and local festival not made for tourists but for the locals themselves. The Gauchos are tough with the animals but maybe a must if for example one want to break the young horse’s will to carry the first time in life a rider.

When they loosen the halter...

...und dann geht die Post ab :-)

This Gaucho had

bad luck.

Look at the horse on the right side! This was the second time the Gaucho wanted to control the horse...and the second time the horse bashed itself on the back!

This guy had pain.

On the mobile...

Hieeeeehaaaa!

Some horses really make a drama. We never saw something like this before. Therefore faszinating.

And Mate (Hierbas Mate = Kräuter Tee) has to be there, always :-) This guy even brought his gas cooker into the arena.

In such a village things are of course limited. Only one real restaurant (you are right, at least there is a restaurant), only one bank (you are right, at least there is a bank:-) in which a Visa card owner cannot get money (Banco Estado; we had this problem already in Porvenir before), our room in a wooden house (all the hostals, hospedajes, residenciales we had in Argentina and Chile were wooden houses. From the outside architecture nice, but inside veeery small rooms, in most cases with shared bath and you can hear every single movement in the neighbors room and also some things you definitely don’t want to hear) which was so clairaudient with its paper thin walls… One morning I plugged my Ohropax into my ears with the words “ich möchte wirklich nicht hören, ob unser Nachbar einen guten oder schlechten Stuhlgang hat”. :-)

In the backyard of our pension

The next day we drove into a valley and discovered a waterfall. No people.

Our private mini island
