Someone told us that someone told them that there is an all paved way via Manazo to Santa Theresa and that one could save 1.5 hours going this way. Right after Manazo the asphalt stopped...whether we made a mistake or this Austrian lady created a nice story
But anyway it was nice out there and pretty remote
The black sheep or better Alpacca
Also pretty high up here. Wooff.
Oink!
Achja, the "road" got worse as well. Ok, before we went also wrong. So, a detour of 30km is on my account. I didn't trust this bad earth track but it was the right one.
In total 140km earthtrack today and still far away from our target...exhausting
though beautiful!
Asphalt! Yeah, and other tourists! :-)
When you think it cannot go higher...
...it surely does.
The moon feeling again. And freezing cold.
Shivay, the base for the Colca Canyon (claimed to be twice as big as the Grand Canyon)
The garbage parade in the back. They really work hard to keep everything clean. Good!
Poor chicken in the box
Nice and fancy traditional clothes of the Quechua in this region. The Aymara clothing before in Puno amd in most of Bolivia is not that fancy though colorful as well. But very nice that in Bolivia and Peru the women still wear it!
