22nd of January - Leaving Ushuaia

It is so freezing cold down here. The last 14 days we camped just with an interruption of two nights in hostels when we were on the road towards the end of the world. During the nights we had minus degrees in the daytime around 6°C max. On the longterm run that sucks and worse, we had the past two days continuous rain on top of these temperatures. Our camping gear, sleeping bags etc. are a compromise of protection and size. Each night we sleep in nearly all the clothes we brought. Everything is damp as our fingers are. From Ushuaia we wanted to continue the 18 km to the National park at the end of the Routa 3.
This morning we got up: Sunshine. Let's move! Drying the tent and clothes and while doing so the next clouds came. Paying again the high entrance fee at National Park gate (foreigners pay triple. A thing which piss me off because life is very expensive in Argentina and especially here in the south. And many Argentinians travel with their big SUVs or pickups...) for freezing another couple of nights out there. Of course you are not alone in the park, buses carrying the people in and out...We decided to move north again leaving the expensive end of South America.
We are now in Rio Grande. Tomorrow we want to start an adventure trip towards the West. People are not sure about the way...river crossings they said. Somewhere we should cross the Chilean border, I guess without papers. This mess we will have to sort out later. We cross our fingers.
Leaving Ushuaia...
Bad weather approaches again
Let's move!
Back in Rio Grande - impressions - the play of light against the dark sky
