22nd to 24th of Feb - Maicolpue on the west coast
« Back to journal
A bit on the escape of the party crowds we tried the west coast: Maicolpue, a Mapuche village.

In the late afternoon many people on the beach, ok.

Architecture is still ok! No concrete buildings yet.

Animal life also ok: Cows, pigs, many dogs...Chile and Argentina have way too many (street) dogs. There seems to be no control at all.

And exactly on this weekend a Fiesta. Here called: Fest! Oh man, we cannot escape.

Bumbumbum, the crowd gathers downstairs

Let me out here!

The next day we escaped while wandering over the next two mountains

Chaotic spiderweb?

We found a really nice lonely track in the forest away from the breeding heat and the crowd but we couldn't continue to the end because we ran out of time

On the way back to our Pueblo cars "piling up" on the small road. Gravel on the steep concrete tracks made it difficult to climb. Walking is better :-) and we had our peace later on the gravel road. It seems that it took longer time for the drivers to solve that trouble.

Achja, the party crowd still waiting for buses on Sunday evening. The night after was more peaceful.

Nice Chilean electrical installation
