The revision and re-design of the Enduro KTM 690 is finalized.
Without my friends Peter and Heli from the Endurobunker in Dachau, close to Munich, it wouldn’t have been possible to meet this first deadline.
Many hours Heli invested in this prototype build, a special cockpit construction, extra fuel tank, special electric features, luggage rack & underbody protection from Touratech, seat bench and the suspension strut all with the focus to make it durable and sturdy for this trip. Well, the steppes and deserts in Kazakhstan & Mongolia will prove it…:-)
Consequently last week I took the virginity of the motorbike and drove the first 750km.
Also the weather provided the first test for my clothes: fog and 8°C only, although I started in Munich with light sunshine…I had to stop every 30km to warm my deep frozen fingers at the engine block or the exhaust pipe. But the “remain” was ok.
My next test run including offroad driving fully packed will be beginning of March.
Tomorrow starts the IMOT 2011 (international motorbike exhibition) in Munich and my motorbike will be shown on the booth of the Endurobunker in hall 4.
