The time flies but Ying’s luggage didn’t fly with us. We moved to the Villa Kunterbunt in Valparaiso. It is really Kunterbunt here, chaotic but lovely people. Martina and Enzo provide a lot of support to the motorbikers getting the bikes out of the harbor and customs or sending them to anywhere in the world. We met three Australians, an Irish guy, a woman from UK and two couples from Thüringen. The people from Thüringen even brought their barbecue grill from home! That reminds me of our Oberhof Enduro crowd; they are also prepared for everything!
Now it is getting quiet here in the Villa Kunterbunt because all the people left except the wild dogs here which create their own fitness & bark program if they hear somebody outside the high wooden fence or at the garden gates.
Every day we spend our time with tracking the luggage, writing love letters to our mobile phone service provider because our phones are not working. No answers yet. We cannot do online banking because we cannot receive SMS. Also I discovered while talking to all the bikers here, that I was too relaxed with my map purchase in Germany. You won’t get a good map anywhere here. I only bought a Chilean map back home. Now I will order maps for Bolivia, Peru and Ecuador over the internet. We anyway have to come back here to the Villa Kunterbunt after Patagonia, to pick our TAN generator which I ordered as well in Germany. Meanwhile we bought Ying a Jeans and some items to survive. And it is fresh in Valparaiso, 16 to 18°C, quite opposite to the 33°C in Santiago.
Playa Ancha, Valparaiso still has these small shops for fruits, cheese, meat and the fish was sold at a small table on the street. So nice. Protest forms against Walmart coming soon.
