I just enjoy now the better weather and I do hope that it will stay with me…if I look outside of the cafe, I doubt it, it gets hazy again!

Yesterday was a great day! The night before I met a couple in a bar, Julia and Oleg.
She is a professional photographer, he is a technology engineer for concrete (and that is THE material pasted into this region...).

So, we met yesterday morning and went for an area outside of Sochi with teahouses and tea plantations from the Stalin era. Stalin pursued at that time this project in order to present this accomplishment to foreigners. Actually the tea growing here was originally imported from India in the 1930s.

We made a photo session in this beautiful scenery on and with my motorbike. After that we had tea in a very beautiful wooden teahouse with different sorts of homemade sweet bread and jelly’s from the garden. Great taste! Actually they invited me and I had no chance to pay.

After that we went back to Sochi, Julia had a business appointment and I continued with Oleg for an “Olympic Game construction tour”, because he is deeply involved in those sites in Adler and Krasnaya Polyana, or better Esto-Sadok from what I learned now.

It is not Sochi carrying out the Olympic Games, it will happen in Adler, close to Abrasien connected with high speed trains and a new road to Esto-Sadok deep in the mountains. And it is all about money
.
A disaster for the nature, environment and the people who live on the way up there. The whole valley winding up into the mountains is under “re-construction”, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week!

You cannot imagine the dirt, dust, mud, stones, rocks and earth moved there and the river forced into a new bed, the convoy of trucks going up and down…amazing, what human being forces/exploits ruthlessly on and into nature.

In any case it was good for me to see these sites with my special tour guide Oleg. Lunch we had in one of the workers canteens in Adler, close to the ice palace which is - of course - under construction. Late in the evening we returned to Sochi, met Julia again and we had dinner together. Really enjoyable open minded personalities my new acquaintances here in Sochi! And thank you for the great day I had!!

Somehow I am now stranded here in Sochi...my tires are still lost somewhere in the Russian Post. It doesn't make sense to go now to Krasnodar without having them there in the motorbike store.
Originally I planned the border crossing to Kazakhstan on the 17th of April...Hmm.

with Oleg on Olympic Game construction site tour :-)

Esto-Sadok...the nice part. It is always on how you make a photo or which section you show...believe me...:-)
