The next day we took our time...Still stoned from the horrible tour the day before we moved on the Panamerica towards the North slowly.
After months in the mountains we were now back in the desert.

At the Nazca lines we stopped. Why the Nazca (pre Inka culture) created the lines and designs into the desert nobody knows. Just amazing that they are still there after all these centuries

The tree, but headfirst.

Los Manos

No lines, just landscape

The oasis Huacachina

When we arrived late in the afternoon everything was tranquilo. We looked for a hostal with parking as well and found one after a while. We checked in, changed quickly our clothes and headed up on the big dune. Soon the sun would go down.

A student lent his board and I tried as the locals did...

When we returned to our hostal we found out that we checked in into a discotheque. THE hotspot of the village was on our rooftop. How lucky one must be...:-(
At 5:30h in the morning I woke up and I heard them still singing or screaming. I went outside and discovered that the whole bar was closed and that only the employees of the hostal and bar partied. I asked them if this is also a hotel, if one can sleep here as well...they stopped. Not so easy to get your peace in South America or maybe we are (still) too German?
